I am still capturing families and weddings and brand imagery but now under my new name SOPHIE DAY Photography. I am based on Central Coast of NSW and travel to Sydney for weddings and portrait sessions.

AMSTERDAM SURPRISE

I know it has been a long time between posts. I hope you haven't all forgotten me!

I recently spent 4 weeks in Europe. It was inspiring, tasty, relaxing, busy, stunning and even surprising. One place that really surprised me was Amsterdam. A city slightly overshadowed by some of the reasons people visit, Amsterdam really amazed me. The cobblestone streets are lined with amazing little stores- paper stores, antiques, furniture stores, handmade shoes, each store like nothing I have ever seen.

I came across this store De Weldaad in the Noordermarkt. I couldn't help but pull out my camera for some snaps. Unfortunately being the start of our trip I did not take any treasures home with me.

My Lens of Love - weddings

For me this blog has never been about promoting my self and my passions. It is more of a collection for myself, and anyone who's eye it catches, of things that inspire me.

But today I wanted to share with you a little something about myself. My Lens of Love is now a registered business here in Australia. My passion for photography has lead me down the path of weddings. I have photographed weddings for over 10 years now on and off, but in the last 18 months I have really founda new love for capturing the very special day in someones life that is their wedding day.

Farewell my dearest season

Summer is officially over here in Australia. This makes me a little sad, infact makes me more than a little sad.

I am a summer girl, I just love everything about it.

Luckily I have a couple of overseas trips this year, where I can chase the sun.

A villa for thought

Happy New Year to you all!
You would think after a break a holiday would be the last thing on my mind. However I am heading to Bali in March, for work, to photograph a wedding. I have been wasting a far bit of time lately searching for the perfect villa. After seeing some shot on a good friends blog Follow Studio of a villa I have stayed at before, got me thinking and searching.
The one above is my top contender so far! What do you think??

Apple Cider has been a great little find for me. It's my new drink of choice! But look at these little beauties... I am not sure if I would want to drink them to ruin the amazing packaging.

I rode my bike this morning to the post box to send a card to my sister who has just bought her first home. It made me realise that sending a stamped envelope with love enclosed is a dying thing. So I want to do it more often.

Good Company

I know I don't share a lot of my own work on this blog, but I am very excited to be soon launching my very own dedicated wedding photography website- My lens of love. The website will be up very soon. But in the meantime I thought I would show you some pics of a collaborative space I have opened along with four other creatives. Good Company is located in Palm Beach, Sydney and is the home of Melinda Taulima flowers, Belinda Black Catering and Follow Studio. I am so in love with and inspired by our new space!
