MUSIC & MUD

After spending a weekend away, stomping in gumboots through mud, at the Byron Bay Blues festival, today calls for a musical blog. I have been a big fan of Ayo for a few years now, after a lovely old man at a music shop recommended her album to me. This was the first time I have seen her live, and I was totally blown away by her. Her presence on stage is so engaging. Ayo is German born, her mother is a Gypsy mother and her father Nigerian. She has the most beautiful smile and her cultural diversity is reflected in her music. My favourite song was when she did an improv song about her life, her family and culture, mixed in with her love for Byron Bay, and how she was discovered there years ago. If you have not listened to her music before I urge you to have a listen, and buy one of her albums... I like her first one. Let me know what you think?

HOME

I have been loving these pieces for a while now. Just realized he is located in Brooklyn, where I will be staying in less than 3 weeks. Might have to get in touch with JDavis Studio and pick up one of these treasures!
